Softly Out of Order / Objects Off Duty

Tad Odd.
Good company.

A little odd.
A little closer.

日常穿歪一点,关系靠近一点。
A cup becomes a hat. Headphones become a belt.
And an apron takes a day off.

01 / Meet the cast

A different kind
of everyday character.

Small heads. Long lines. Clothes with a life of their own.
Each character has a different silhouette, a different rhythm,
and one familiar object in the wrong place.

01 / The instigator多夫 / 杯帽鸟

Doff

“I brought you something.”

Doff is first to pass along an odd little find. The long S-neck does the talking; the misbuttoned jacket keeps things slightly off balance.

  • Closed-bottom red cup hat
  • Butter jacket, lilac cuffs
  • A folded slip in the pocket
Explore Doff
02 / The curious one卢普 / 串台兔

Loop

“Wait. Play that again.”

Loop listens with a head tilt before a reply. One ear loops, the other wanders; the headphones stay at the waist until the next unexpected song.

  • One loop ear, one S-ear
  • Blue knit, cream trousers
  • Red headphone belt and loafers
Explore Loop
03 / The unhurried one特维尔 / 反穿獭

Twill

“You can just sit here.”

Twill makes room without making a fuss. A connected tail becomes a seat; a kitchen apron becomes an everyday cape.

  • One long, connected tail
  • Yellow cuffed shorts
  • Backwards cream-and-red grid apron

02 / Character lab

Same oddball.
Many ways to be.

Turn the character around. Change the expression.
Let the whole body react. Open any sheet to inspect it.

Loop / Four views

Front, three-quarter, side and back. The loop ear and headphone belt carry the identity around the body.

Complete sheets are shown without cropping. Turnarounds are illustration proposals; exact model geometry is still to be resolved.

03 / A place to be together

Something to share.
Room to just be.

The world comes from the product’s own everyday things:
folded slips, a resting kettle, a red stool and a little space.
Sharing can be a gesture. Silence can be company.

01 / Passing it along

An odd find is enough. No explanation required.

02 / Quiet company

There’s no performance to keep up. Replies are optional.

04 / One cast, different materials

Change the medium.
Keep the character.

Soft studio renders for atmosphere.
Flat shapes for compact compositions.
Facets for a more angular kind of mischief.

Sculptural / Tactile and familiar

Matte bodies, hard red glaze, blue knitting and soft grid cloth. Everyday materials make the oddness feel close.

05 / The things they live with

A cupboard
of possibilities.

A small set of repeatable objects connects the cast
to the original Objects Off Duty world.
Paper, glaze, knit and an unexpectedly useful loop.

  1. Folded slip
  2. Red cup
  3. Knitted kettle
  4. Red stool
  5. Headphones
  6. Grid cloth
  7. Blank booklet
  8. Linked loop

One complete eight-object atlas. The booklet and loop are exploratory supporting props, not product controls or accepted symbols.

06 / Different rhythms

A strut. A lean.
A very slow sway.

Doff is springy. Loop is curious.
Twill takes its time.

Twill in the motion rhythm study.
Twill / Unhurried and grounded

Paused. This study moves whole illustrations to compare timing; it is not a skeletal character animation.

07 / Out in the world

More than
a character sheet.

Give the cast places to show up:
an editorial cover, an invitation and a quiet little note.
Artwork and typography stay separate.

Tad Odd / Editorial cover

Very normal.
Mostly.

Graphic 2D cast on an editorial cover composition.

Tad Odd / A few things worth passing along.

Tad Odd / Invitation

Come as
you are.

Loop leaning into an invitation composition.

Bring a song, a thought,
or absolutely no explanation.

Tad Odd / Postcard

No clever
reply needed.

Twill accompanies a quiet postcard composition.

Sometimes being here is plenty.

Exploratory communication layouts, not new app screens. The existing Quiet Stage UI remains the reference for product use.

08 / A small set of rules

Keep the oddness.
Keep the kindness.

Read the character handbook

Objects make the joke.

Misbuttoning, misplaced headphones and a reversed apron give each character a story. Clothes carry identity rather than becoming interchangeable decoration.

The body speaks first.

Long curves, changes of balance and clear gestures do more than a bigger smile. Keep a neutral, attentive expression available.

Leave people room.

Abstract sharing can stand on its own. For a sincere moment, the cast can listen quietly or step aside. No forced cheer, pity or demand to reply.
